  1. //SECRET//JSOC//MARSOC From: [email protected] <Thomas Godfrey> To: [email protected] <Clark Williams> CC: [email protected] <Mark Stanton> Subject: Notice of Immediate Deployment Per orders from POTUS all Commands and Attachments are hereby notified that Task Force Cobra and all supporting detachments are to prepare for immediate deployment to the Ikan Archipelago in response to recent actions in the Malacca Strait. All commands are to ensure OPSEC throughout rank and file. Deployment for all commands is expected no later than March 11th and Task Force Cobra shall begin operations no later than March 12th. Direct presence of command is required. Briefing to follow. Two days ago the American crew of the MV Europa Flame was taken hostage while transiting the Malacca Strait approximately 525 nautical miles northwest of Singapore. This marks the 67th ship to be attacked in this strait over the last 365 days and the third ship with American crew. Today the hostages were rescued, and the ship was recovered by DEVGRU. Recovered intelligence has tied several of the most recent attacks to the Ikan Archipelago off the coast of Indonesia. The uptick in activity, including the targeting of US Citizens, is of growing concern to the Pentagon. In response, Task Force Cobra is tasked with seeking out and destroying any and all organizations hostile to US interests within the Ikan Archipleago. Permission has been secured from the Indonesian government for US forces to operate on their soil. That said, discretion is always expected. Attached is an orientation image. An intelligence estimate will be provided once compiled. God speed. Signed, General Thomas A. Godfrey III Commanding United States Special Operations Command ATTACHMENTS TFCOrientation.jpg
  2. Cargo Ship Hostages Rescued by US Navy SEALs The Grand Central Times - Dateline March 9th 2020 Image of the hostage rescue released by the Pentagon Families of the MV Europa Flame's crew, who had been held hostage for over 48 hours aboard the vessel since their abduction on Saturday, can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Pentagon announced early this morning that a hostage rescue operation was successfully conducted by US Navy SEALs, and that all six hostages were recovered with only minor injuries. According to reports, the crew was accosted by a series of fast-moving boats late Saturday afternoon. The boats contained men with automatic weaponry who quickly boarded the vessel and took the crew hostage. It comes as no shock that an absurdly high ransom was subsequently demanded from the parent company of the Europa Flame and what can sometimes become a long standoff began. However, the fast and decisive action of the US Military has put a quick end to what would surely have been a terrifying experience for the crew. There are even rumors that the raid itself was conducted by the infamous Seal Team 6, who were made famous by the operation they conducted to kill Osama Bin-Laden in 2011. Unfortunately however, we could not find any source that could verify this claim. The successful rescue of the MV Europa Flame's crew comes as a great relief, not only to the families of the sailors, but to international experts on piracy in the South China Sea as well. Experts have cautioned on numerous occasions that piracy in the region has been steadily on the rise in recent years. This is especially concerning as the area that has seen the most uptick in activity includes key shipping lanes in and around Singapore, which has about 40% of global trade pass through every year. The raid reasserts the US' commitment to never negotiate with terrorists, in any region but as a reminder for this one, and experts hope it may serve as a deterrent to future pirates in the region. While US' projection of military power abroad has been a point of concern for many, in this instance at least, there is very little that can be argued against if their actions serve to secure such a vast portion of the global economy. I don't want pirates stealing the things I'm ordering on Amazon and I'm sure no one else does either. 4. Afghanistan on the Rise? The Grand Central Times - Dateline February 26th 2020 4th ANA Mechanized Division Clearing Charikar with Close Air Support from US AH-6 Little Birds Its been nearly five months since the last major update on Afghanistan. Due to the extremely troubled history of Afghanistan its difficult to be anything other than hesitant about apparent good news or improved stability. But after five months of watching and waiting, Afghanistan, at least for right now, appears to be on the rise. NATO Specialists have continued to focus their efforts on the recruitment and training pipeline for the ANA and now more recently ANP as well. The success of the "New ANA's" 3rd Brigade in July seems to have clearly indicated to the Pentagon the direction forward for the region. The US lead effort to screen recruits for substance abuse and to ensure effective training have only grown more effective in recent months. Sources indicate that there has been an apparent drop in the "recruitable population" due to the countries general problems with substance abuse, but the recruits that are passing through the process are becoming part of very effective combat units. Large offensives spearheaded by these new forces in central and eastern Afghanistan through December and January have been wildly successful. Taliban forces north of the A77 roadway, in territory they had fiercely pushed the ANA out of in June, have suffered heavy losses and been pushed back by the New ANA. The Afghan government is making progress, but still working to recover from the blow struck by a chemical weapon attack in Kabul on voting day a year and a half ago. Elections last year were suspended due to the heavy fighting and severe losses by the ANA, but while there has been no official announcement yet, its likely that voting will resume this year in September in an attempt to restore some stability and legitimacy to the Afghan government. In the meantime coalition forces will likely spend much of their time and energy focused on their success with the New ANA; Taking territory and restoring security in advance of the democratic elections. US Rangers Fighting in Northern Afghanistan in support of the Northern Alliance The Northern Alliance has continued their war against the Taliban in the north taking large swaths of ground from the Taliban in late August and early September. Conventional US forces have deployed to the region and are assisting Northern Alliance forces in their combat offensives though there still has been no official statement from the Pentagon regarding their long term relationship with the Northern Alliance. Notably the NA have established themselves as an independent state from Afghanistan in the North, though no one has publicly acknowledged them as a separate country. The US support of their military offensives has proven to be effective against the Taliban but means the Pentagon will have to make some interesting decisions regarding the governance of the region. The bad track record of the Afghan government and ANA, despite their recent success, have caused many to look at the Northern Alliance as the way forward for the country. Others think the Northern Alliance needs to be consolidated into the official Afghan state, though such an action would likely not be done voluntarily by the Northern Alliance. Whatever the way forward for Afghanistan's northern provinces, one thing is clear: The Taliban have suffered major blows militarily and are struggling to recover from the combined US-led offensives from the New ANA and Northern Alliance. The reported infighting they experienced last year has certainly played a major role in their inability to pose a significant threat in recent months, but once they get their feet back under them how effective are we likely to see them become? For the first time in recent history the Taliban seems to be solidly on the back foot with the effectiveness of the Afghan military looking up. The biggest concern now, however, seems to be what will happen between Afghanistan and the Northern Alliance. Will this lead to further bloodshed in the country which has become a graveyard of empires? Or will it result in a forced concession of territory with the US attempting to keep the peace? Elections are still unannounced, but the time between now and September is sure to bring more victory for the New ANA, greater stability and the hope that this election might be conducted un-hindered by foreign adversaries, particularly now that Iran is firmly engaged with problems of their own making. In Universe Date will change on: Rapidly UPDATED: 10APR21 Current State of the World Maps of current International Statuses: https://my.visme.co/projects/x4yxe7my-world-relationships The Middle East Afghanistan in political turmoil with public trust having shifted to the Taliban after a Chemical Weapon detonated at the elections in 2018. Coalition forces deployed in the area fighting to keep democratically elected leaders safe and in power. U.S. Forces currently deployed to Afghanistan, alongside U.K. Canadian, and Italian forces. ISIS has gained significant strength in Afghanistan after its collapse in Syria and Iraq. Taliban is gaining public support as time passes. Northern Afghanistan has been abandoned by coalition forces and the Taliban and ISIS are both vying for control. Iran is stable but has little to no influence on the Straight of Hormuz remaining. Militarily strong but public opinion is low of the military's ability to defend the country given the ease the U.S. pushed in and destroyed a large quantity of defensive infrastructure. Iran was previously trying to destabilize the middle east to be able to take over as the primary power in the region but after the U.S. discovery of their involvement with the chemical weapon attacks and the mass of U.S. troops at the border, the Iranian leadership is re-evaluating their stance and strategy going forward. U.S. Special forces actively conducting operations in Iran to track down those involved with the attacks. Kurdish rebels have declared independence as Iranian Kurdistan and are waging a war against the Iranian government. Iraq is stable but with a severely weakened military. ISIS's in Iraq has been utterly destroyed. Four Divisions of U.S. troops deployed to their border with Iran as a safeguard against the discovery of Iranian involvement with ISIS and chemical weapons attacks. Oman is stable after the near-crisis with Yemen in 2017. Their economy is booming with the recent discovery of more oil drilling locations within their borders. Syria suffered a series of attacks from ISIS in mid 2018 but the Syrian Armed Forces successfully managed to dismantle the terrorists in the country and has since been recovering from the turmoil. Yemen is stable and has little continued conflict with Oman since 2017. The economy is improving and public order and support of the government is increasing. Asia and the Pacific Australia is stable and has been steadily increasing military spending since the RIMPAC incident with China. Australia has begun conducting regular training exercises with U.S. forces and is preparing for if and when China continues its aggression. China is stable and ramping up their aggression in the South China Sea. Chinese politicians aim to secure the majority of the key shipping lane by 2021. China has voluntarily withdrawn from the horizon islands but is currently building islands in the South China Sea, working their way towards the Philippines. Chinese special forces currently supplying the New People's Army in the Southern Philippines with monetary support, weapons, and supplies in attempt to get them to overthrow the Philippine government and establish a Communist Government Sympathetic to Chinese interests. China has fostered an uneasy alliance with Russia since 2017's RIMPAC incident to combat the U.S.'s power in the region. Philippines is unstable while actively fighting a terrorist organization working their way up the Southern Islands. Public order is decreasing the longer the conflict continues. Intelligence suggests a possible link showing that China is supplying the New People's Army but nothing is confirmed or concrete. Consider the U.S. a friend but political leaders want to show the nation's strength to their citizens and to China so they are currently unwilling to accept U.S. help in any of their conflicts. Russia is looming on instability with a series of political scandals implicating the Russian President in rigging local elections. Russian politicians actively making international threats to distract the population from the scandals but one more major internal crisis could topple public order. Militarily Russia has built up a strength equal to the former soviet union and is actively broadcasting it. Russia allied with China and deployed large portions of their fleet and naval infantry to Vladivostok in 2017 following the RIMPAC incident in order to combat the U.S.'s influence and power.

    Ghost Recon Breakpoint Free Weekend

Ubisoft is running a free weekend for Ghost Recon Breakpoints and its on sale for 75% cuz it bombed so hard. So if you watched the first trailers and thought "Cool" and then saw the RPG weapon mechanics and went "Shit" and then heard how bad it did on release and decided "nah," they added a setting so you can modify most aspects of gameplay like removing the RPG weapon mechanics, increasing or decreasing AI difficulty and spotting times, increasing or removing the survival elements like injuries and stamina consumption. So if you thought "meh" at any stage and felt like taking the time to give it a try, its free for the weekend and is like 15 bucks if you like it.

  15. United States Deploys Forces to Republic of Chernarus The Grand Central Times - Dateline October 10th 2019 US Forces Unloading from a C-17 Globamaster within Chernarus The Republic of Chernarus, a small democratic country near the Black Sea, has been under attack by a group of Russian ultranationalists since the beginning of October. Though they were caught by surprise the Chernarus Defense Force valiantly held off the enemy onslaught and defended their capital of Chernogorsk. The CDF gained some ground back, retaking their largest airbase as well as a number of cities before both sides reached a stalemate, became heavily entranced and unable to gain ground. Chernarussian President Konanov appealed to the United States for support in retaking his country from this extremist group, and the US government promised the immediate deployment of Forces to the region. The Pentagon also released a statement confirming that the group now assaulting the Republic of Chernarus is the same one responsible for the roadside attack on the Under Secretary of State. Flight of AH-1Z "Vipers" from the 13th MEU overflying a CDF Airfield President Moore has promised a quick and decisive end to the conflict and has deployed elements of the 13th MEU, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, and the 101st Airborne, including the 1-506th Infantry who are veterans of the previous Chernarussian conflict in 2015. As the US was instrumental in maintaining the freedom of the Republic of Chernarus in the previous conflict, the CDF has reportedly welcomed them with open arms. The Pentagon has declined further comment but it is expected that US forces will begin offensive operations as soon as they are fully deployed. 22. Context: After arriving and getting somewhat situated aboard the USS Thorne, flagship of Surface Action Group Victory, MSOT 8311, 8312, 8321 and the 160th SOAR are called into the central hanger of the LHD by Mark Stanton at a makeshift briefing area. Once there Mark provides the intel he and his team collected in the 24 hours they had ahead of the MSOTs. What follows is the briefing itself
  23. //SECRET//JSOC//MARSOC From: [email protected] <Thomas Godfrey> To: [email protected] <Clark Williams> CC: [email protected] <Mark Stanton> Subject: Notice of Immediate Deployment Per orders from POTUS all Commands and Attachments are hereby notified that Task Force Cobra and all supporting detachments are to prepare for immediate deployment to Surface Action Group Victory in support of operations in the Sea of Azov. All commands are to ensure OPSEC throughout rank and file. CIA Assets will be departing at 0400 EST on 30SEP19 from Washington DC to SAG Victory, currently offshore of the Oblast of Podagorsk. Alpha Company, 4th Battalion, 1st SFG will be departing at 1200 PST on 30SEP19 from McChord AFB to SAG Victory. Alpha Company, 3d MRB, will be departing at 1600 EST on 30SEP19 from Camp Lejeune to SAG Victory. Upon arrival all commands will station aboard the USS Thorne and prepare for immediate combat operations. Briefing to follow The Under Secretary of State is currently in critical condition due to a roadside bombing which occurred while touring the oblast of Podagorsk. This development indicates a continued escalation of threat to US interests in the region. Recent events have included Russia's threats against the Ukraine, and resulting NATO exercises scheduled in Ukraine, the Ukrainian assaults on separatists on their eastern border, riots inside of Podagorsk and now confirmation of a terrorist organization linked to them. As a worst case scenario, if the Republic of Chernarus, or it's oblast of Podagorsk, are destabilized and occupied by either Russian Ultranationalists or by Russian Forces it will pose a serious threat to the region. Re-securing this region is vital to US interests. The CIA believes that the group responsible for the bombing is a previously un-identified group taking the namesake of the Red Guard that previously operated in the region. Current intel suggests that, unlike their namesake, they are a Russian ultranationalist organization, rather than a communist one, but the assumption is they maintain the name due to the terror and reputation fostered by the previous Red Guard in the area. Intel also indicates the distinct possibility of the Red Guard being Russian backed, though we have nothing concrete at this time. Task Force Cobra will be tasked with expanding upon the intel collected by the CIA and establishing the Red Guard's support, backing, organization, plans etc, and dismantling the organization in as swift a manner as possible. As was done effectively during Operation Bloodhound, TFC's CIA assets will interface with their local assets upon arrival, brief SOCOM once they arrive and will begin detailing a strategy for dismantling the organization once one becomes viable.
