So apparently I actually recorded a video from the 506th. Unfortunately, I was in aviation, which means nothing happened at all... Aside from when Wilson decided he couldn't take it anymore. Also @2ndLt (Ret) Montana might have been there. Somewhere. Probably on the airfield being bored as fuck as reinsert.

We've had posts about this game both back at the 506th and the old 13th forums, but I wanted to open current discussions. It seems like the devs are ramping up to Beta, removing some users from NDA, so a few popular youtubers have released some gameplay videos (as well as done some streams) and it looks like its shaping up to be a fun game... Anyone else excited for this? I'll probably get it closer to a beta (because I don't think I want to drop $140 on buggy alpha testing).

When I hear someone in my element wants to drive something

No one in my Element can drive but me, sadly you had to find out the hard way Capt.

New map is very welcome, as well as ammo reload time. Now we just need them to put at time on using meds so people can't run around spamming Grizzlies for days while in the middle of a firefight.

It's way better than the Simpsons too.

Was that 8324 or were all of the first FTX long swims? Task Force Charlie's first FTX was. I cut out like 500m of swimming. 8324 was a long way behind us (8325), we definitely got super soggy. https://youtu.be/b4Tm_I5h82o?t=215 Don't think I have much from the 506th but might have some stuff from the 13th laying around.

I need to shoot a wider array of firearms but I just haven't got to it yet. The ones I own, a M9 Beretta and a Mosin Nagant from 1942, I enjoy greatly. Visually, I love the P90 though I've never shot one. 1911s are one of my favorite handguns, probably because its the oldest of what I would call a modern handgun design (outside revolvers). The Winchester 97 Trench Gun is probably my favorite shotgun, and I've been trying to hunt one down for a decent price for a year or so now.

With this I'm fairly satisfied with their approach. It means, unlike steam workshop's old crap for paid mods that died, every single person that makes mods won't try to make every single mod paid - it will be a small, limited subset. And hopefully higher quality. The only sad thing is that they cant really touch or modify core systems, which is where a lot of cool things could be done. But if we actually get some Arma 4 news out of this that'd be nice.

My two cents. A relatively impartial view point of the current situation with recommendations.
Capt (Ret) Bazarnicki replied to Cpl (Ret) Eagas's topic in Tun Tavern
I agree with some of your points for sure Eagas, and the idea that CS role as an elected role that has a term limit is interesting and could work. Same with Battalion/Company leadership, its an interesting thought. However some of the rest of it, for junior members, feels too harsh. Leadership positions make sense to have more and sometimes even a real heft to the responsibility and billet, but no way we could get new members to Milsim to "enlist" for a committed term of 6 months - 1 year. Pvt Doe joins up, trys it out, decides a MARSOC unit isn't his thing, decides to go to the 15th to drive tanks. So he would get sent to "The Brig", Inactive Reserves. I'm not sure what purpose this would serve, except add more overhead for S-1. The process him into IR, then months later reprocess him to discharge. The only purpose I could see this setup having would be us saying "Hey 15th, he's still a member here, don't allow him in." which would be shitty to do to any new blood in the milsim community testing the waters. I guess this could be a way to avoid people rubberbanding with discharge, leave for a week, come back - type issues. Enlistment terms work in real life because you sign your life away. They own your ass for multiple year commitments, lawfully. Can't enforce that kind of thing in a milsim unit. Aside from that, some good thoughts. Having a rotating leadership above would provide constant challenge, and hopefully improvement. Although you sacrifice stability. I dunno, it would be interesting to see a unit try that setup. Other established units aren't that nimble so it could work as an advantage.
