Operation Tomahawk 

Note: This mission is purely fictional.

After arriving in the Diyala Province of Iraq, Operation Tomahawk is launched; A US led Task Force consisting of the United States Marine Corps 2/5 "Raiders or Marauders", and the Marine Special Operations Command's MSOT 8222 "Dagger 22". As well as supporting elements from the 160th SOAR and the 16th Special Operations Wing. Tomahawk's main focus for the U.S. Government is to push ISIL out of the Diyala Province.

 

After arriving at Airbase Sayan established weeks prior by U.S. Army Pathfinders and Air Force CCPs, MSOT 8222 will then travel to Forward Operating Base Independence. This FOB will act as the main HQ for the MSOT. The 160th SOAR will also operate out of Independence.

Mission 02:

 

With the information gathered from call sign "Eagle" led us to the compound of Abdul Shareen-Asad, a top ISIL bomb maker in Iraq, in which MSOT 8222 recovered what was identified as a part to a crude thermonuclear device along with information leading to a possible arms deal with an extremist Iranian Government official by the name of Hossein Mojan. It is belived that ISIL will be purchasing resources to complete the thermonuclear device using other top bomb makers within the region. MSOT 8222 will be tasked  to perform reconnaissance on the possible location of the arms deal, asses enemy presence, and stop the arms deal from happening.  MSOT 8222 will set up at "OP Alpha", which is ruins of a castle, to recon the AO and asses enemy strength while standing-by to assault and stop the weapons deal. AP 1 can be used as natural cover to assist with the assault. Intel tells us that heavy resistance is to be expected.

1. Higher's Mission: Disrupt ISIL operations in Diyala. 
2. Adjacent Units: INF will secure OBJ location after target area is secured, 2/5 will be on station if needed
3. Supporting: 160th SOAR, 16th SOW.

II. Mission 

Who, What, Where, When, and Why?

 

Who: MSOT 8222 and Supporting Air Assets.

What: Intercept ISIL/Iranian arms deal 

When: 0530 IGT.

Where: AIsamoud Industrial Facility

Why: Disrupt ISIL activity in Iraq.

 

 

III. Execution 

 

A. Commander's Intent

Enter the target area undetected, move swiftly to disrupt arms deal, collect intel from the mission objective and EXFIL. 

 

B. Concept of the Operations

1. Scheme of Maneuver: MSOT 8222 Team 1 and 2  (Overwatch Team) will set up at OP Alpha and confirm arms deal. Team 2 (AT) will then assault OBJ Phillies once Iranian presence is confirmed and the order is given. Team 2 will eliminate all hostile presence and gather the resources . Return to FOB Independence with resources. 
2. Fire Support Plan: Air Support will be 1x F-16 and 1x Apache Gunship. 
    

C. Tasks 

1. Retrieve thermonuclear resources.
2. [SECONDARY] Gather intelligence of bomb makers in Diyala.
