Sgt (Ret) Purcell Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) Here is a list of the billets in a MSOC. I removed the ones we don't use and included the ones that are possibly the JTACs. The rest can be found in the document. Thought it was pretty interesting. All information from the "Marine Special Operations Command Training and Readiness Manual" http://www.marines.mil/Portals/59/Publications/NAVMC 3500.97.pdf?ver=2012-10-11-164032-013 Some differences I can see compared to us: SARCs are "Independent Duty Corpman" and "Team Corpsman " MSOT Team Leaders are "Commanders" Company gunnery is not in structure. Air officer seems to control the overall aviation effort. Each team would most likely directly control air strikes and transport through its communications SNCO. MSOC BILLET: Marine Special Operations Company (MSOC) Commander BILLET: Marine Special Operations Company Executive Officer BILLET: Marine Special Operations Company First Sergeant (8999) BILLET: Marine Special Operations Company Independent Duty Corpsman (8403) Possible JTAC? BILLET: Marine Special Operations Company Air Officer (7502) - A 7502 Captain holds the company air officer billet. He is responsible for coordinating all MSOC aviation related activities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MSOT BILLET: Marine Special Operations Team (MSOT) Commander BILLET: Marine Special Operations Team (MSOT) Chief Possible JTAC? BILLET: Marine Special Operations Team (MSOT) Communication SNCO - (Seems like more of a radioman, not a JTAC) A SSgt holds the MSOT Communication SNCO billet. He is responsible for all team communications and equipment maintenance. He is proficient in the use of field expedient antennas, long-range and clandestine communications techniques. He receives and is accountable for all cryptographic equipment assigned to the team. Maj (Ret) Whitby Posted December 14, 2016 Bare in mind the roster is adjusted to better fit our operational structure. These are all things command staff has carefully gone over prior to this switch. we didn't just jump into it.
