I mean you know you have been operating to long when you start talking military lingo to your co workers and you work at a call center!

Can relate. We use handheld radios at my job. The oldest tech here is a Vietnam veteran. He and I use military prowords all the time. We're considering implementing callsigns.

    I blame ArmA.

  2. @1stLt Bazarnicki The deployment uses 6 maps: Aliabad, Diyala, Al Rayak, PR FATA, Clafghan, and Farkhar Valley. Five of those have been used to date in Operation DESERT DRAGON.

The other maps, such as GOS Dariyah, are in the mod pack due to previously raised complaints about the lack of new/varied training maps. We've squeezed all of the blood out of the stone that is CUP Terrains, so we are now cycling through third party maps. The goal is to switch out one or two with each major mod pack update. This balances out download requirements with variety requirements.

    970TI

    970 Ti or 980 Ti? I don't think there was ever a 970 Ti.

Either way, it's probably time to look at a GTX 1060 Ti 6 GB or a Vega 56, something like that.

  4. All responses to this will be greatly appreciated. Both positive feedback and constructive criticism are hugely important for continued improvement. S-2 works very hard to make fun and engaging missions and storylines, and clear feedback is tremendously helpful.

And please note that S-2 is accepting applications for Zeus operators and Battle Captains. If you feel strongly about mission conduct or design, you have an opportunity to implement your vision. Applications are available here:

To think that Special Operators of different branches are tied to a specific camouflage pattern, especially during a deployment is kind of ridiculous. I've seen photos of Special Forces (Green Berets) wearing the Navy's AOR1, as well as MARSOC CSOs wearing the Army's OCP (grey digital pattern). Simply put, These men wear whatever camouflage pattern that fits the best within the environment they are operating in.

From an S-4 perspective… people complain when they have to download new things for the mod pack, or when download sizes are too large. So we have to balance "special forces get and use what they want" with "let's remember that some people in the unit are on rate limited Internet connections."

  7. I'm not a fan. The excessive use of media kills loading times, and the embedded Youtube videos don't even fit correctly on the mobile version--so why even make us waste our bandwidth for content that doesn't show properly? I also hate the black-white-yellow color scheme: the further down you scroll, the more empty-yet-annoyingly-dense it looks. And no one reads blocks of text, let alone blocks of white text on dark backgrounds.
