3d Marine Raider Battalion Public Server info
S-1 Personnel replied to S-1 Personnel's topic in Announcements
What is Hearts and Minds? The standard Hearts & Minds game mode is set to recreate a post invasion battlefield that has sparked an insurgency. The primary task is to locate and destroy all the enemy “hideouts”. There are several side missions that you can do along the way from route clearance, mine disposal, humanitarian aid, asset recovery, to pilot recovery etc. Civilian Population Given that most of the side missions H&M offers are centered around COIN Ops there is a civilian presence around the map and with that there is also a “reputation” that you will have to uphold. Building good relations with the civilian populous will allow the interpreters to interact with civilians and ask about the insurgent operations in the area as well as server as a possible taxi service for you depending on the reputation level. If the reputation level is low, then they will most likely give you phony intel when you question them. They could also potentially inform the enemy of your location. Ways to increase the task force’s reputation would be by completing humanitarian operations by providing much needed supplies to oppressed towns/villages, clearing out mine fields, clearing out “rubble piles” and even potentially cleaning up graffiti. The task force will need to PID their targets and keep a close eye on anyone and everyone around them as there is a risk of suicide bombers, and VBIEDs. You can interact with all civilians you come across and give them simple orders like get down, get out of here, and stop. If you choose to shoot a warning shot at a civilian who is getting to close keep in mind that depending on how close that shot is to the civilian it might lower the reputation level so, please keep that in mind. IED/Mines H&M does implement both IEDs and Mines around the world however you will only find Mines in the specified mine fields; IEDs on the other hand can be anywhere and everywhere including in Vehicles creating the deadly VBIED. Keep your heads on a swivel and watch your spacing because some of them can be nasty and even well hidden. Task Force Assets Camp Wilburn will have most of the assets you will need ranging from a variety of MRAPs, Up armored HMMWVs, Razors, Logistical HEMMT trucks, Stryker with a plow (to help with minefields). There are also some of the common airframes that our unit’s aviation utilizes like the AH-6, MH-6, MH-60, CH-47, Ah-64, A29 Super Tucano, C-130, MQ-9 Reaper, and even a A-10. Public server will always be up and running so some considerations we’re taking into account when determining what assets to place for the task force; with that being said that's were the simplex mod comes into play. You will notice there are Two airframes at the base with a full crew in each: one MH-60 and one AH-64. Those two aircraft will be able to support the task force IF there are no human aviators on. Keep in mind that they are Arma AI so they aren’t the best but will be able to transport you in and shuttle you around when needed. Keep in mind though that when you call in the MH-6 to provide CAS it will not be anything close to the same level of CAS a Human pilot can provide. You will also be able to call in artillery support through simplex as well. To utilize the simplex system, you will need either a radio or a map depending on what asset you are calling for. In addition to the simplex system there is also a desk you can walk up to in the main arsenal area and interact with it to select where you wish to paradrop from. This script will also allow you to choose up to two vehicles to drop in with you as well. When utilizing them make sure to grab your parachute before boarding the plane but if you forget there should be extra parachutes in the plane already. At the helipads you will notice there are two different AH-64s. One of these is the RHS version and the other is the longbow mod version that we utilize in our standard mod pack. In the event a asset is destroyed in field it will be turned into a “wreck”. Wrecks will need to be brought back to base and repaired at the red box located near the C-130. All aviation assets should be set to respawn back at base in the event they are destroyed. Map markers With H&M running most of the time any markers placed in the “Global” chat will stay until they are deleted or the server resets. So please mark things on Global when its important information for everyone to know like the location of a wrecked vehicle, a vehicle that Bob took out of base but ran out of gas in and couldn’t bring back or even routes that have been cleared of IEDs. Please use a time stamp when marking things so we know how old it is and wither it is still relevant. Role specific abilities H&M has unique things in it that require specific roles for them. Some of these allow you the ability to question the locals to get intel or create side missions. When it comes to the medical settings everything is the same as it is in the operations and trainings server, so nothing changes there. Task force commander, Alpha Company CO/XO, all Team Leaders and Team Chiefs all have the ability to create new side missions. When it comes to advanced engineer training only the Team chiefs, Assistant Element leaders, and aviation roles. EOD abilities are given to all Team chiefs, Assistant Element Leaders, the FIRST CSO slot in each element, and each EOD tech role. Interpreter abilities are given to the Task Force Linguistics Specialist, Alpha Company Linguistics Specialist, and all Team Operations Chief. FOBs/COPs As we expand our presence across the map, we can create FOBs an COPs around the map. To Spawn the basic items needed for those these like the FOB box and fortifications you can go to the red box located next to the C-130. You will then need to transport these items by vehicle to the specific sight. Wither you wish to sling load them with the CH-47 or drive them over with the flatbed HEMMT that's up to you. Creating these positions will create new “spawn locations” for the Task force. Final notes If you come across any errors or wish to report anything about the mission, please let anyone in the Public Relations Team of S-1 know. We would like the server to be a place for all individuals to come play and have fun. Don’t worry there isn’t a restricted arsenal at all. Periodically the server will be taken offline for updates. -

Greetings, We here at the 3d Marine Raider Battalion are always happy to participate in Joint Activities with other units. We also pride ourselves on a serious, fun and realistic experience for our members. To ensure a happy, productive process building up to Joint Operations, we have three levels of joint activity: Liaised Unit Partner Unit Sister Unit Liaised Units are units that we have successfully contact and established lines of communication with. This is a phase where both our unit and yours can get a feel for each others standards and operations. At this phase, we welcome you to send observers (with prior permission) to one our of trainings, and would like the opportunity to do the same by sending observers to one of your trainings. Partner Units are units that we feel we have similar values and standards to. This is a phase where both units should be comfortable with each other's standards for milsim. At this phase, we like to have opportunities for joint trainings and the sharing of certain records like recruiting information. Sister Units are units that we feel we have very similar values and standards to, and/or we have a shared history with. This phase is where we are open to fully in character joint operations. We like to give TeamSpeak unit and rank tags at this phase, and look forward to bettering both our units through joint trainings and discussions. There is no designated time you need to move from one level of joint activity to the other, it is simply based on the decisions of our S-5 Public Affairs Staff with advice and consent of our Command Staff. You may not even "know" your level. Think of it as a relatively informal process codified for ease of our internal bookkeeping. To submit a request for liaison, please submit a topic titled "[UNIT NAME] Request for Liaison" use the following form: Unit Name: Website: Teamspeak IP: Teamspeak Password: (If Applicable) Country and Timezone of Origin: Unit Type (MEU, Paratroopers, Special Operations, Etc): Point(s) of Contact (Who we can contact to communicate with your unit) : Mods (What are generally the mods that your unit uses): Misc (Any additional information or communication you would like to include): We are also open to participating in multi-unit Joint Operations. In your Application you are required to provide us with your ARMA 3 Player Identification Number (PID). This is a number unique to every copy of ARMA 3 and is used to add you to our XML file. This file is viewable by the community and also adds the unit emblem to both your character model and the side of any vehicle you may be operating. To find your Player Identification Number you will first need to launch the game just as you would normally. Once Arma 3 launches to the menu screen click on the Profile icon, as indicated in the following picture Select your profile and click on EDIT, as showed in the following picture Now, click on the UNIT tab, as showed in picture. Your ArmA 3 PID will be indicated in the area marked in red. Mind you that this will be the same menu where you will put the Squad XML. (Note: If you haven't set up a new Player Profile the default profile will be displayed as your Computer Username) Now that you have your PID make sure to write it down very carefully, as we go by the PID number you provide us in your application exactly as it is shown in your application, and any errors will result in unnecessary delays and headaches in getting you set up.
