WARNING ORDER
MSOT 8311

1. SITUATION.

a. Overview: Serbian forces have invaded Kosovo and Montenegro, and the US has intervened. Currently, the Serbian 1st and 2nd Brigades are retreating as the Montenegrins counterattack along the frontlines. The 63rd Parachute Brigade has largely fled the area, but the 72nd Special Operations Brigade is still in the AO. Hostile aviation has largely been eliminated, though there may be a few Serbian helicopters still in the AO. We are conducting operations to aid the Montenegrins in liberating their territory.

b. The Area of Interest is the Northeast portion of the AO.

c. Area of Operations is AO ATLAS.

  • The terrain is hills and small mountains with dense forests and urban areas.
  • Weather is expected to be clear with a low chance of rain.
  • The time will be 0500 on the 10th of June.

d. Enemy Forces

  • Serbian 1st Brigade is attempting to pull back from their more exposed positions on the Western side of the river while the 2nd Brigade is trying to retreat from the Eastern side. The force consists of armored, mechanized, motorized, artillery, and airmobile forces that have all been seen in the AO. However, resistance activity and our airstrikes have limited their options for withdrawal. What is left of the 27th Mechanized Battalion is attempting to retreat East.

e. Friendly Forces

  • The Montenegrin 2nd Infantry Battalion is advancing North with our support. They have concentrated their forces and are pushing along the MSRs. Montenegrin forces are advancing and have put much of the 27th Mech Battalion in a pocket. They will be pushing against the Serbian rear guard and advancing North. Montenegrin resistance forces are operating behind the lines and may be able to provide support. Carrier Air Wing One is on standby if necessary, though it is currently tasked with strikes against Serbian forces in Kosovo. An AC-130 flying out of Spain will be available to provide fire support. An RQ-4 will be conducting high-altitude reconnaissance of the area as well.

f. Attachments and Detachments

  • 160th SOAR
  • 16th Special Operations Squadron
  • 7th Reconnaissance Squadron
  • Carrier Air Wing One
  • Battleaxe 1-2 (Battery of 4x D-30 howitzers)
  • Broadsword 3-4 (Battery of 4x D-30 howitzers)

2. MISSION.
Alpha Company (WHO) is attempting to roll back Serbian gains (WHAT) against the Montenegrins in AO ATLAS (WHERE) to liberate the country (WHY).

3. EXECUTION.
a. Concept of Operations.

MSOT 8311 is tasked with raiding the retreating Serbs to inflict as much damage as possible on them before they withdraw from the AO. The sole remaining route out of the AO is directly South of the airfield, and all Serbian forces will be funneling toward that location. Be sure to identify targets as Serbian before engaging or calling for fires. Friendly conventional forces, resistance fighters, and civilians are still in the AO. Uparmored humvees have been delivered and are standing by at COP Bayonet.

Additional tasking will be given in-field as determined as needed by Roundtable.
