WARNING ORDER
MSOT 8312

1. SITUATION.

a. Overview: Venezuelan forces have seized control of the island of San Esperito and are fortifying their positions before the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit arrives in force. They are concentrating the forces in the two major cities and are working to solidify their control over the island. We are conducting operations to undermine the Venezuelan influence and control over the island.

b. The Area of Interest is the factory Southeast of Santa Luz.

c. Area of Operations is AO MAINE.

  • The terrain is small mountains, swamps, dense jungles, and urban areas.
  • Weather is expected to be clear with no chance of rain.
  • The time will be 0300 on the 17th of September.

d. Enemy Forces.

  • Venezuelan 3rd Marine Brigade is attempting to fortify its positions and bring longer-range defenses to the island and bring those already there online. The 34th Marine Logistics Battalion is coordinating these activities from an occupied factory to the Southeast of Santa Luz, where there is also a sizable logistics and communications base. A security platoon (including a pair of RBS-70 SAMs) and logistical personnel have been seen within the factory compound. ISR has detected some civilian vehicles coming and going from the factory, but cannot confirm a civilian presence at this time. Venezuelan forces are also still holding positions at key crossroads throughout the island and basing the bulk of their forces in the small cities. Mechanized, motorized, light naval, and airmobile forces have been seen in the AO, as well as light attack aircraft masquerading as civilians.

e. Friendly Forces

  • There are no friendly forces currently in the AO

f. Attachments and Detachments

  • 160th SOAR
  • USS Farragut

2. MISSION.
Alpha Company (WHO) is attempting to degrade Venezuelan forces (WHAT) in AO MAINE (WHERE) in preparation for the 24th MEU’s landings (WHY).

3. EXECUTION.
a. Concept of Operations.

MSOT 8312 is tasked with destroying the logistics and communications hub (OBJ RASPBERRY) to the Southeast of Santa Luz. Available open-source information has revealed that the factory compound is surrounded by reinforced walls that will be difficult to breach. The main gate appears to be the only entrance and exit to the compound. All Venezuelan assets at the base are to be destroyed and any intelligence recovered. Priority intelligence is anything referring to shipments to the island. If there is a civilian presence, they are to be detained and extracted for interrogation.

Additional tasking will be given in-field as determined as needed by Roundtable.
