Overview: Venezuelan forces have seized control of the island of San Esperito and are fortifying their positions before the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit arrives in force. They are concentrating the forces in the two major cities and are working to solidify their control over the island. We are conducting operations to undermine the Venezuelan influence and control over the island. With the USS Farragut rendered combat ineffective and damage control occupying the efforts of the entire crew the 3d MRB has been transfered to the recently arrived USS Bataan. b. The Area of Interest is the farming complex labeled "Campeones" on your AO maps. c. Area of Operations is AO MAINE. The terrain is small mountains, swamps, dense jungles, and urban areas. Weather is expected to be overcast with a low chance of rain. The time will be 18:30 18SEP21 d. Enemy Forces. Venezuelan 3rd Marine Brigade has suffered noticable setbacks due to the previous operation of the 3dMRB, but remain a potent force in the AO. With the US Naval Blockade still in place tensions between the Venezuelan troops, coup leaders and locals have begun to rise. The 3rd Marine Brigade does still maintain significant combat capabilities with Mechanized, motorized, light naval, and airmobile forces, although these forces are increasingly concentrated around strategically important locations. e. Friendly Forces 24th MEU f. Attachments and Detachments 160th SOAR USS Bataan 24th MEU 2. MISSION. Alpha Company (WHO) is attempting to degrade Venezuelan forces (WHAT) in AO MAINE (WHERE) in preparation for the 24th MEU’s landings (WHY). 3. EXECUTION. a. Concept of Operations. MSOT 8312 VIKING is tasked with conducting a heliborne assault on the Campeones farming collective (05, 02). The Venezuelan forces, having suffered food and supply shortages due to the US naval blockade have seized the farms and expelled the local farmers and seized it for themselves. VIKINg will be tasked with rooting them out and securing the farming complex. This will not only serve to restore the farms to their rightful owners but also serve as a significant distraction from the main landing effort on the Western side of the Island. Additional tasking will be given in-field as determined as needed by ROUNDTABLE Map of AO MAINE 8312 AO 4. SUSTAINMENT. a. Logistics Transportation: Method of transporting will be done by aerial assets of the USS Bataan Supply: Rearm will be from USS Bataan or delivered by Aviation b. Health System Support Medical Treatment Casualties shall be treated by self-aid, then Corpsman support in the field.
