Capt Boyle Posted January 9 WARNING ORDER MSOT 8311 LEGION 1. SITUATION. a. Overview: With Viking's seizure of the airfield, we can now begin evacuating US citizens. Unfortunately, the situation has only deteriorated on the ground and the US consulate in Bala Murghab is under siege by Takistani government forces. The Ambassador and Marine Embassy Security Group (MESG) had already withdrawn from the main embassy to this consulate to better extract, but have become pinned and need extraction. b. The Area of Interest is OBJ WALLEYE c. Area of Operations is AO SANDMAN The terrain is mountainous with urban areas and small towns Weather is expected to be clear The time will be at sunrise, 0630 d. Enemy Forces. Enemy forces are elements of the 13th Takistani Infantry Brigade, consisting of infantry, light armor, light artillery, and possible air support. They are currently besieging the consulate and attempting to storm the building. e. Friendly Forces N/A f. Attachments and Detachments 160th SOAR 2. MISSION. Alpha Company (WHO) is conducting operations (WHAT) in AO SANDMAN (WHERE) to establish an evacuation route for US citizens and extract those unable to reach the airfield (WHY). 3. EXECUTION. a. Concept of Operations. LEGION will be tasked with reaching the consulate (OBJ WALLEYE) in the city of Bala Murghab and extracting the Ambassador, the MESG, and any US citizens in the complex. Drone footage has revealed a heavy hostile presence in the city, but they also appear to be going door-to-door looking for civilians. We have recorded several executions by these forces.
