Capt Hart Posted May 2, 2024 WARNING ORDER MSOT 8312 VIKING & 160th SOAR 05MAY24 SITUATION 3d MRB is participating in training exercises with the 13th MEU (SOC) to improve amphibious capabilities when conducting littoral operations against a conventional opponent. This operation intends to assess the ability of each unit to conduct supported raids against large conventional OPFOR clusters, using the full spectrum of unit capabilities. ENEMY: A Russian Battalion Tactical Group (BTG) consisting of Mechanized Infantry, reinforced by Light Infantry and Armor, is holding the SE Island of Tanoa. Preemptive raids by the 3d MRB & 160th SOAR have resulted in OPFOR sustaining the loss of: The entirety of their maintenance section, 80% of their AA Assets, nearly 70% of their Armored & Mechanized assets, and over a company's worth of infantry (Approx. 4 Platoons EKIA). FRIENDLY: 3d MRB will assist the 13th MEU in conducting an amphibious landing of the SE Tanoan island staging from the SW island. The 13th MEU's Bravo & Charlie companies, supported by 13th MEU ACE, will conduct an amphibious landing on the W coast of the island with the assault beginning at 0620 IGT. MISSION MSOT 8312 Viking & 160th SOAR will conduct a raid on the town of Doodstil, simultaneous with the 13th MEU's assault IOT 1. Rescue a captured SSgt Stukas being held in the shops IVO AGS-17 & MANPAD Squads. 2. Decisively engage the remnants of OPFOR's fire support IOT prevent it from firing upon the 13th MEU's landing force. 3. Destroy the remnants of the Howitzer platoon. 4. Destroy the T-80 defending the town 5. Reduce OPFOR's infantry reserves. ONCE COMPLETE The task force will standby to rapidly ambush OPFOR units moving to reinforce their frontline across the island as and when opportunities present themselves through SIGINT. RECONNAISSANCE The reconnaissance picture is provided using full spectrum intelligence analysis relying most heavily on SIGINT, and HUMINT, in the form of 13th MEU Force Reconnaissance Elements.
