SITUATION

3d MRB will assist 13th MEU in their advance across Tanoa by conducting probing assaults and limited-scale raids against enemy positions.

 

ENEMY:

OPFOR attempted to conduct a scorched earth withdrawal to the N side of Tanoa. Bridges have been knocked out and mines or other obstacles and ambushes have likely been left behind them.

 

OPFOR units that have survived the withdrawal are strongpointing the N side of the island.

 

FRIENDLY:

13th MEU Air assets, after receiving timely intel regarding OPFORs withdrawal, immediately conducted surge air operations in response. This has resulted in OPFOR sustaining significant losses during their withdrawal.

 

Bravo Company successfully conducted an air assault and secured the connection between the mainland and the staging area. Alpha Company has moved across along with mechanized assets to reinforce.

 

Limited-scale pushes and probing assaults are being conducted on the NE flank in order to assess OPFOR's defenses and hazards left in their wake.

 

1x 13th MEU MQ-9A is tasked with destroying OPFOR 2S3 Battery. 2x F-35C are on standby to function as an airborne QRF in the event OPFOR launches aerial assets.

 

MISSION

1. MSOT 8312 Viking will destroy Mechanized Infantry Squads along a potential line of advance for 13th MEU forces.

2. 160th SOAR will destroy an OPFOR mortar battery & supporting assets defending the Tanoan Volcano.

 

ONCE COMPLETE

 

The task force will conduct a probing assault toward the La Rochelle Aerodrome IOT

1. Destroy any targets of opportunity

2. Guage the feasibility of conducting a large-scale infantry assault in this direction

3. Guage OPFOR response

 

RECONNAISSANCE

The reconnaissance picture is provided using SIGINT & IMINT from 13th MEU Assets.

 

Markings of enemy positions are incomplete and expected to be accurate at ± 50 meters

160th Assets may be used to support MSOT 8312's primary objective, so long as the 160th's primary objective is taken out simultaneously.

13th MEU push will occur simultaneously with the task forces assault.

MSOT / 160th will determine the assault time

 

1x MQ-9A is Available as added security for the probing assault
