Operation Barbarossa (WW2 Mission Arma 3)

Operation Barbarossa

Operation Barbarossa was the German invasion of the Soviet Union and along with a handful of other smaller countries. Lasting from June of 41' until May of 45'.

@Sgt Jennings (most if not all of the credit should go to him) and myself have set up a fun-op using the IFA 3 mod.

Keep your standard 3d Mods loaded and add IFA3 Lite

Roles (They are slightly different from what we are used to.)

Platoon

• Platoon  Commander- Organizes and orders the Squads/Armor assets as he/she sees fit.
• Platoon Leader- Handles Comms between Platoon, squads, and armor assets via a LW radio.

Squad

• Squad Leader- Manages the squad to complete orders from platoon.
• Assistant Squad Leader- 2IC for the squad, also handles the squads LW radio.
• Squad Sniper- Handles the scoped Kar98k
• Squad Runner- Runs back and forth relying messages from the SL.(The only radios being used will be the LW by PLTSGTs, ASLs, and the Tank Cmdr.)
• Machine Gunner- Handles the MG42.
• Rifleman- There are 5 Riflemen in a squad 1 carries ammo for the MG and 1 carries the squads AT.
• Squad Medic- Germans didn't actually have medics in the typical infantry squad. However this is Arma and even though we are on basic medical medics can still be useful.

Tank Crew

• Commander- Commands the tank, manages the LW radio, also uses the front gun from time to time.
• Driver- Drives.............
• Gunner- Uses the tanks main armaments.

Weapons

Just to keep things from getting chaotic we will be slightly limiting weapon choice based on what role you are filling.

Any member of platoon can carry 1x MP40, MP44, or G43
Squad Leader or ASL can carry 1x   MP40, MP44, or G43
Squad Runners can carry 1x MP40 or G33/40 due to their light weight
Squad Snipers can carry 1x Kar98k or Kar98k ZF39
MGs must carry 1x MG42
Rifleman can carry 1x G33/40, G43, or Kar98k
Rifleman carrying AT also carry 1x Panzerfaust or RPzB( If carrying a RPzB you may need an assistant)
Medics can carry 1x MP40, G33/40, G43, or Kar98k

 

Clothing/Gear

As far as clothing goes you will be limited to Schutze outfits(The tank crew have their own set). That being said Chest/Backpacks variants are up to you as well as accessories.

You don't need it for the IFA3 Lite version, Just click the steam link i posted and subscribe to the mod. It will work the same.

German Aviation in this mod blows. Test it out for yourself if you like it I'll add a slot for it.

Also - we tested it and I don't think there's a point. The planes are abysmal and extremely poorly made. You should test them and see if you like it - if so, we can add a Stuka or the Fw-109.

The aircraft are great, if you would like to add one I would like to fly it.
