You can pick up a free copy (not a trial or free weekend) on Steam. Even if you're not sure if you'll like it, you should pick it up because it's completely free.

Generally considered one of the easier paradox games to pick up (my personal rating would be HOI4 -> CK2 -> EU4 -> others), and if you play with a friend you can ride on their DLC coattails.

I'm not promising to play with any of you nerds, just a PSA.
