Subject: Notice of Deployment
All Commands and Attachments are hereby notified that Alpha Company, 3d MRB; Alpha Section, 160th SOAR, and all supporting detachments are to prepare for immediate deployment to the Republic of the Philippines. All commands are to ensure OPSEC through rank and file. Deployment for all commands is required no later than August 11th.
Briefing as follows:
The island of Tembelan in the Phillippines has been seized by a fringe rebel group calling themselves the CENTRAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (CEC). This fringe group has been laying low for a long time but has seen a recent and very rapid resurgence due to significant backing from Chinese corporate entities.
These corporate entities have been providing the CEC with significant funding, training, and material support via the Chinese state-owned "Frontier Services Group" (先丰服务集团). Contractors from the FSG have been reportedly conducting patrols around the island and guarding high-value installations under the guise of protecting Chinese corporate interests on the island.
The Phillippine government has asked the US for assistance in dealing with this situation after a failed attempt by the Phillippine military to oust the rebel group from the island. The current Philippine garrison has managed to hold on to a small helicopter base, designated "AIRBASE ARNIE" and urgently needs reinforcement and resupply. The 3dMRB, fresh from FTXs and R&R is first in, helicopter assets will insert teams to AIRBASE ARNIE where further coordination with the local Filipino commander, Major Cid Demario Matapang Rosales, will occur.
AIRBASE ARNIE is under sporadic rebel attack, frequent skirmishes with CEC and their FSG handlers occur but no major force concentration against the airbase has been noticed. We do not expect this to remain the case for long and as such the 3dMRB will begin conducting operations ASAP in order to prevent any significant buildup that may threaten our allies' foothold on the island. Additionally, the Philippine Marine Corps 2nd Marine Brigade is deploying to Tembelan along with light CAS assets from the Philippine Air Force.
Enemy forces will consist mainly of Filipino communist insurgents. Expect AKs, PKs, RPKs, and RPGs in abundance. Reports also state that a handful of M113 and M1117 APCs as well as Western model small arms were captured by the rebels. Technicals should also be expected. FSG personnel may be present among rebels and are considered legitimate targets if they engage you directly or partake in support roles for the rebels. If FSG personnel are encountered on their own ROE requires the display of hostile intent from FSG personnel (Pointing weapons at you, maneuvering on your current position, firing at you) before you are allowed to engage.
