//SECRET//JSOC//MARSOC From: [email protected] <Clark Williams> To: [email protected] <Sean Whelan> Subject: Intelligence and Situation Update Regarding MSOT 8313's recent interaction with Russian forces and communication between representatives of the US government and the Russian Federation, there is a significant development of the situation on the ground in Takistan. A summary of events and implications is below. At approximately 0400 on February 22nd, a Russian Spetsnaz team was tracking the movements of a convoy of vehicles retreating from Landay Airfield after it was hit by American aircraft on Feb 19th. The convoy made it to the town of Maku, where the Spetsnaz observed approximately a company-sized force of IRPT irregulars and remaining Takistani Army defectors. Several T-72s, IFVs, and dug-in positions. At least two ZU-23-2 emplacements were seen being set up, along with Igla launchers. More concerningly, the Russians reported the movement of two SS-21 "Scarab" SRBM launchers and a truck with what they suspected was radioactive material. The Russians attempted to extract their men but the helicopter was shot down. The Russians lacked the available men to rescue their team and begrudgingly asked for aid from MSOT 8313. In a show of good faith in 8313 was able to rescue most of the team and provide transport for them back to Russian positions. The Russians believe the IRPT holdouts intend to make a last stand and take as many of their enemies with them as possible. Our intelligence has reached a similar conclusion. Given the presence of SRBMs and radioactive material, both of our governments believe that the IRPT intends to launch jury-rigged radiological warheads at multiple targets, including our respective bases in the region. This cannot be allowed to occur. CENTCOM is coordinating with the Russian Central Military District and their forces in the AO. Both sides have agreed to not engage each other under any circumstances. Since neither of our sides has sufficient forces to clear Maku and its surrounding area immediately available, both MSOT 8311 and 174th Special Purpose Detachment of the 45th Spetsnaz Brigade will have parallel assignments. 8311, with support from the 160th SOAR, will be tasked with securing the town of Maku, the launchers, and any remaining radioactive material, while the 174th SPD will eliminate the nearby garrison in the town of Naw and set up a blocking position on the East and North sides of Maku. Roundtable will coordinate as our liaison to the 174th SPD. Under no circumstances are the SS-21s to be allowed to launch or escape. Holy shit there's a name I haven't heard in a while lol Congratulations on the marriage Whitby! Glad to hear things are looking good. Whereabouts are you? MENA is a pretty big region. Any recommendations for tourist/vacation destinations? I retired from the unit years ago and just rejoined a couple weeks ago after seeing one of Harts' videos (the one with the oil platform - so good). Transferred from aviation to JTAC and really having a blast (sometimes literally) so far. As far as IRL goes I finished my bachelors degree and got a corporate job in a completely unrelated field (apparently history/philosophy isn't applicable to most jobs - who knew! ). Been working my way up the corporate ladder to some effect though. After the last 3 years focussing on work - I'm now trying to focus back on the more important parts of life like friends and family - also part of the reason I'm back. Also looking at travelling more, now that my paycheck allows for it - hence my question above.

Their assessment is below: Given the unrefined nature of and diverse types of isotopes present in the materials recovered from Rasman Airbase (Site Alpha) by the 3d MRB, we assess that these are not the precursors for a purpose-built radiological weapon or former nuclear weapon material. There is a high likelihood that this material was nuclear waste from the BN-365 nuclear reactor at the Aktau Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) which was decommissioned in 1997 after the fall of the Soviet Union. Russian and Takistani authorities had previously claimed that all nuclear waste material had been transferred to Russia, however, limited documentation was provided to US and IAEA officials. The IRPT likely intends to use this material as a radiological weapon or “dirty bomb”. While heavy exposure over prolonged periods of time to these materials would be harmful to personnel, brief exposure will be easily mitigated through atropine injection and wearing a mask to prevent further inhalation. Code Phrase for exposure to radiological material is “SCRAM, SCRAM, SCRAM”. To prevent harm to all personnel in the AO, upon exposure to radioactive material, personnel should withdraw to a safe distance if able. Personnel will be issued Geiger counters to ensure detection. Takistani crisis escalates The ongoing crisis in Takistan seems to be undergoing an escalation following the involvement of the US and the use of military force to evacuate its citizens and embassy personnel that were trapped in the country following the violent coup by the extremist Islamic Resistance Party of Takistan (IRPT). The IRPT has been moving against government holdouts as well as positions held by forces loyal to the Party of Economic Rerform (PER). The PER is an amalgamation of more liberal forces in Takistan united by Fariad Mirzo, a liberal reformer who has been in and out of hiding for most of his political career. Fariad Mirzo and the PER have been officially recognized by the US and several EU member states as the legitimate government of Takistan, with the Moore administration promising both financial and military support. PER Leader Fariad Mirzo seen in PER territory with suspected US Special Forces. In the capital city of Sa’hatra IRPT Leader Muhiddin Kabiri announced that what he calls a “US intervention” will be met with a strong response, including attacks on US assets and allies in neighboring Afghanistan. The Moore administration has yet to confirm or deny any US troops in the country officially after the evacuation of US citizens. However, a source within the Moore administration speaking on the conduction of anonymity confirmed that US forces were already in the country and conducting operations aimed at undermining the IRPT government and preventing them from destabilizing the region. Saddle up boys, this is gonna be a tough one. Soviet forces have seized a small Finnish Island in the Baltic Sea, and the Finns have reached out to us for help. Turns out they've been developing a small strategic missile capability, and the test systems were deployed on Gogoland. Somehow the soviets got their hands on the plans, and several days ago, staged a rapid takeover of the island with airborne and naval forces. We need to go in, clean them out of there, and secure the missile base ASAP, needless to say, this is all very hush hush. Good luck. Anyway, i got to see my uncle over the weekend, haven't seen him since 2015ish, but i just found out that he does Depot Level Maintenance for 160th SOAR and i thought that was kinda neat and moderately relevant given our emulated aviation unit of choice.

Night One Title Card (Click) The gang started off by creating their characters. After Falconer got some suspicious rolls for his characters, Specter getting shafted with his INT check, the gang not being able to follow simple equations and Gluttony deciding not to choose feats for some...other pleasures, the gang started out in their new fantasy world. After beginning their journey in this new MMO world, the gang set out to find some work to trade for some weapons. After muttering to themselves about stealing from merchants, which brought some suspicious looks from some guards, the gang moved over to a well full of water. Everyone drank from it, Specter found a bucket, which he filled and would become a staple of the journey as both Specter and Swanson wanted to empty the bucket to use it as a crude helmet. They quickly found a distraught man near the well with a simple fetch quest to get his son's blanket back. They went to the docks to get the blanket back, but was mugged or rather, an attempted mugging my a group of bandits. With only one of the bandits armed Specter and Swanson decided to huck loose cobblestones from the road at them and promptly killed two of them. Falconer falco-punched some poor man straight through the chest, (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom style). Laprade almost got shanked in the chest but was saved by Gluttony ruining his assailant. Once all the hoodlems were dead, the gang set to looting them and picking them clean, with Specter taking both his rock and one of the bandit's cloaks for himself, and Swanson simply retrieving his rock. Laprade gave Gluttony the knife in exchange for saving his life. After quickly leaving the scene of the crime, taking a torche and 3 crude cigarettes to give to a child later on. Once the gang went back to the quest giver, each person received a weapon of their choosing. The gang tried to give their new found cigarettes to the kid, to no avail. Hess and Swanson took shortbows, Gluttony taking a shield to compliment his dagger, Laprade taking a massive sword and Specter taking a short sword. After receiving their weapons, they were tasked with taking a pack of Kobolds out, something that no one expected to go as it did. After walking out of city lines, and almost killing another group, the gang finds a few Kolbolds. Swanson tried and failed to knock down the scout before it alerted the rest of the pack, but alas it was in vain. The rest of the pack was alerted to their presence. Hess took to a tree to begin his overwatch, Laprade engaged with Gluttony assisting him, Falconer began his rampage with his weapons and Swanson was harrased by multiple Kobolds but Specter was there to help him. Once the intial engagement was over, the gang looted what they could, Hess went scavenging and Specter drank from his bucket, giving Laprade the last few drops to which Laprade politely responded by throwing Specter's prize bucket into the forest. After all the remaining Kobolds ran into the cave nest, the gang decided to begin their clearing of the cave. Burning logs and burning bodies were sent down into the hole and a group of Kobolds tried to punish the group for such an atrocity. With one of the Kobolds coming out of the hole ablaze, he ran to the tree that Hess and Swanson had decided to take refuge in, setting the tree alight. Hess tried to no avail to use his "fire hose" to put out the fire, with Gluttony also stepping in to try to mitigate the blaze. Laprade took a Kobold from behind and summarily thew him down the hole along with a head that Falconer had swiped clean from another. Hess forged for food, mid fight and Swanson shot two Kobolds and killed them quickly(They were the lucky ones). With the entrence to the cave being blocked by burning bodies the smoke column could be seen for miles, with other groups looking on at the massacre. Once the nest was burned out, and all the Kobolds killed, the gang went back to the city to claim their reward. (That's all I could remember, if I left anything out please feel free to comment.)
