Knowing the PLA, those stupid gray uniforms would blend in amazingly well in the desert, too. -

Tales from CS OPSEC: Maj Makowski: "Now, when I'm on the ground, my callsign is Mako. When I'm in the air, my callsign is Sharknado." CW4 Whelan, suppressing his laughter: "It's funny but I fucking hate you so much right now!"

@SSgt Carter How'd you get VCOM units to garrison successfully? -

Is there any opinion on VCOM AI so far? Have you found that it presents a greater challenge, or is it just annoying? -

No one on the ground has any suggestions or requests? I don't believe that at all. -
I never thought I'd see the day. BI is fixing a bug that has been in this series and engine since Operation Flashpoint: the preservation of geometry on fallen or destroyed objects, like knocked over fences and trees. Presently, intact geometric objects will provide proper visual and ballistic cover. If you stand behind a wall, bullets won't pass through (unless it's a flimsy wall, of course), and the AI cannot see you. But if the wall is knocked over, it loses all geometric properties: bullets pass through it, the AI sees through it, and it's no better than a bush. If you lay down behind a knocked over wall or tree, it's just like laying down in the middle a field. You're defenseless and exposed. But now... BI is fixing it. This fix was uploaded to the most recent development build. (Yes, ArmA 3 development is still ongoing.) You can see here that the AI is unaware of a player laying down behind a fallen wall. After shooting his gun, the AI is aware that there is gunfire in the area, but does not know where it came from. The player has to roll out of cover and engage the AI before the AI knows where to look. This should result in far less frustration with this game, because you can now approach firefights and combat more realistically. Additionally, you can now rest your weapon on these same fallen objects. You can also hide from AI in logical ways: This fix is planned to ship in ArmA 3 1.83. No release date or ETA. Probably a few weeks to a couple of months.

This is now live in ArmA 3 1.84.

I think most teams/elements do their training on Friday evenings, so you may want to push this back a day to increase attendance.

This is a thread about Capt Hart's opinion of the state of the unit, and resulting and related discussions. I don't see how debating interpretations of unit policy is related to that topic. If you really want to discuss unit policy and publicly air grievances, please start another thread. Let's keep this one on topic. Thank you.

@Maj Makowski How about a song of our youth, the song of our people?

There is no submission period. You can always send requests for additions, changes, etc up your COC. Or am I misreading…? Either way, the base looks pretty well designed so far to me. I would recommend keeping walkways clear, but the ambient design looks solid. What map is that?

US Cyber Command already exists, yes. But it's not a military branch, it's a command grouping similar to SOCOM, PACOM, etc. Also, never count on a government agency to get you anywhere, let alone back in space. SpaceX is doing the heavy lifting (pun intended) there.
